Afleet Alex, who finished last as the 3-5 favorite in Saturday's Rebel (gr. III), was scoped following the race and found to be suffering from a lung infection. Trainer Tim Ritchey said the colt is still being pointed for the April 16 Arkansas Derby (gr. II). On a scale of 1-5 (5 being the worst) Afleet Alex's lung infection was rated a 3. He will be on medication for the next 5 days and then resume training. Ritchey said they fully intend running in the Arkansas Derby. Greater Good and Rockport Harbor, the one-two finishers in the Rebel, both came out of the race in excellent shape, their connections said. Trainer John Servis said he was thrilled with Rockport Harbor's performance. The son of Unbridled's Song ate up everything and was full of himself Sunday morning. After a bad start, he was rushed up to the lead and gave a good battle when challenged by Greater Good. Servis was happy to finally get the race into Rockport Harbor after an eventful winter in which the colt suffered a pair of foot bruises that hampered his training. It looks as though all three horses will hook up again in the Arkansas Derby.
