Aqueduct Ace of The Day: Jockey C. C. (Chuck) Lopez won on three of his four mounts Thursday and now has 44 over the inner track, good enough for third place in the standings behind Ramon Dominguez and Eibar Coa. Lopez swept the $83.50 early double aboard GREG GOT EVEN ($16.40) and BYTHEBEAUTIFULSEA ($9.50) before taking the fifth with JUNKANOO PARTY ($8.30). He ended his day with a third-place finish aboard the 3/1 LETS GET GOING in the day's final race.

Thursday's feature race, an optional claimer for three-year-old fillies at six furlongs, was won gate-to-wire by the longshot we tabbed in yesterday's article, THUNDER SWORD ($19.00). THUNDER SWORD stopped the clock in 1:12.31 and was two lengths better than JESSICA IS BACK. DEEP DISH WILDCAT ran third. THUNDER SWORD, a daughter of THUNDERELLO, is now a perfect two for two. She is trained by Juan Serey and was ridden to victory by apprentice rider Jesus Ponce. The race was marred by a three-horse spill near the quarter pole when FOR A PRAYER, with Jose Santos up, fell. ARE WE DREAMIN, with Ramon Dominguez aboard, fell over the fallen horse and rider. STREET SASS, the 3/2 favorite ridden by Eddie Martin, was able to avoid FOR A PRAYER but fell over ARE WE DREAMIN. Ramon Dominguez and Jose Santos were taken to Jamaica Hospital with non-life threatening injuries while Eddie Martin escaped unscathed. FOR A PRAYER was fatally injured while ARE WE DREAMIN and STREET SASS escaped injury.

Troubled Trip: The chalk players got a break when the 2/1 BOOK BISHOP was taken down in the third race and HERECOMESHOLLYWOOD ($4.30) was declared the winner. BOOK BISHOP, with Eibar Coa up, had the lead by half a length off the turn for home when he came out and brushed with HERECOMESHOLLYWOOD. BOOK BISHOP bested that one by a neck at the wire but the stewards lit up the Inquiry and Ramon Dominguez, aboard HERECOMESHOLLYWOOD, claimed foul. The head-on replay clearly showed that BOOK BISHOP did not maintain a straight path and did indeed make contact with Dominguez' mount. We've seen similar incidents go unpunished but the stewards, noting the half-length margin, made the disqualification. BOOK BISHOP traveled the six furlongs in a sharp 1:10.66 and gets another crack at N2L allowance company.

Friday's top race is a $75,000 optional claimer with a purse of $46,000. It's a one-mile race for three-year-old fillies under Nw1X allowance conditions. The field of six is headed by Anthony Dutrow's CAROLINA FUEGO (8/5ML) who broke her maiden in the debut race on January 15th at Philadelphia Park. CAROLINA FUEGO drew the rail and will have the services of top jock Ramon Dominguez.

Trainer Gary Contessa will counter with the 2/1 morning line entry of THAT GIRL IS MINE and BARE DANCER who drew posts three and six respectively. THAT GIRL IS MINE is 1/1/1 from four starts and went third last out in the Busanda Stakes. She fired a best of sixteen work tab on January 25th, going four furlongs in 47 2/5 at Aqueduct. Mike Luzzi takes the call. BARE DANCER broke her maiden at the one-mile distance two back in her fifth start before going fourth in the Busanda. She will be ridden by Pablo Fragoso.

The Longshot: John Destafano's SMALL LIES (6/1ML) has never been two turns but her pace and speed figs place her with the best of these. She broke her maiden at six furlongs in November and has never been off the board in four starts. She was an OK third with better last out in the Ruthless Stakes and may go well on the stretchout. SMALL LIES will start from post four with Channing Hill in the saddle.

DORM FEVER, fourth in the Ruthless, and the one for six CABBAGE PATCH complete the field.

When BECKY'S FLUTE returned $108.50 in Thursday's seventh race, a Pick 6 carryover was all but assured and nobody was surprised when no live tickets were in play for the ninth race. Friday's carryover stands at $29,966.
